A 6-speed power train for an automatic transmission of a vehicle is provided to improve a driving performance by optimizing a shift ratio and arranging brakes and clutches properly. A first planetary gear set(PG1) includes a first operation element operating as an input and output element, a second operation element operating as an input element, and a third operation element operating as an output and stationary element. A second planetary gear set(PG2) includes a first operation element operating as an optional stationary element, a second operation element operating as an input and stationary element, a third operation element operating as an output element, and a fourth operation element operating as an optional stationary element. Plural clutches are interposed between the operation elements of the first planetary gear set and between the first and second planetary gear sets. Plural brakes variably connect the operation elements operating as the stationary element with a transmission housing.
