THE APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR IMAGE QUALITY EVALUATION OF COLOR IMAGING SENSOR

An apparatus and a method for estimating a color image sensor are provided to estimate the display quality quantitatively, by measuring the spectral sensitivity of the color image sensor and analyzing the spectral sensitivity objectively. A spectroscope(12) has a plurality of diffraction gratings and reflection mirrors to separate white light, which is emitted from a light source(10), into a plurality of single color lights. A light splitter(14) splits each of the single color lights into two. A light detector(16) measures the intensity of one of the split lights. A reflective screen(18) receives the other of the split lights. A computer(20) controls the positions of the diffraction gratings and the reflection mirrors to select the wavelength of the single color light.
