A disposable wearing article in which a liquid absorbent element can be held in close contact with a wearer's skin by a contraction force of leg elastic members without causing gathers in the absorbent element. The leg elastic elements include first leg elastic elements (41) extending from transversely opposite margins (18a) of a front waist region (14) to a front half (24) of a crotch region (15) and second leg elastic element (43) extending from transversely opposite margins (18b) of a rear waist region (16) toward the front half (24) of the crotch region (15). The first and second elastic elements do not present in a longitudinal middle zone of the crotch region (15).
