[Also in Division E2] A buckle for safety belts of motor vehicles has a plate 1, with a hook 12 for engaging an eye, and a sleeve 2 movable relative to the plate 1, but normally held by a spring 3 in a position, Fig. 1 (not shown), towards the left, as shown, so that portions 11 partly close the hook 12. Cam surfaces 13, when the sleeve 2 is moved by hand to open the hook as shown, disengage the eye from the hook. Relative movement of the plate 1 and hook 2 is limited by a screw 16 forming an abutment for the spring 3. |
