<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method with which a flame-resistant polyester having excellent flame resistance and a high degree of polymerization can be produced in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the flame-resistant polyester comprises carrying an esterification reaction or a transesterification of a raw material containing one or more kinds of dicarboxylic acids or ester-forming derivatives thereof and one or more kinds of diols or ester-forming derivatives thereof and then producing the polyester through a polycondensation reaction. The method is characterized by making a phosphorus compound represented by general formula (I) [wherein, R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>may be the same or different and each denotes an alkyl group, an aryl group or an alkoxy group and R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>may mutually form a ring] coexist with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its ester-forming derivative and an amine compound having ≥100°C boiling point in a reaction system for the esterification or transesterification reaction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
