<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding cassette capable of increasing contact area of a paper feeding roller with a pad while increasing an inclination angle of a lift plate when abutting on the paper feeding roller. <P>SOLUTION: The pad 44 is attached to a tip section of the lift plate 26. When the pad 44 is abutted on the paper feeding roller 45, its upper face 44a is inclined onto a side where it becomes horizontal more than an upper face 26a of the lift plate 26 for the upper face 26a. That is, an inclination angleθ<SB>1</SB>for horizontality of the upper face 44a of the pad 44 is set to be smaller than an inclination angleθ<SB>2</SB>for horizontality of the upper face 26a of the lift plate 26 (θ<SB>1</SB><θ2).
