The invention relates to a tool holder with a tool holder axis, said tool holder comprising, on one axial end region thereof, a machine-tool coupling part (12) provided with a coupling section (16) for coupling the tool holder to a machine tool, and on the other axial end region, a tool clamping part (14) which is embodied separately from the machine-tool coupling part (12) and comprises a clamping section (18) for receiving the tool. The tool clamping part (14) and the machine-tool coupling part (12) are connected for common rotation about the tool holding axis (S). According to the invention, the tool clamping part (14) comprises an abutment surface (24) on the tool side, and the machine-tool coupling part (12) comprises an abutment surface (22) on the machine-tool side, said abutment surfaces being applied to a counter-abutment surface (22, 24, 64, 70) in the mounted state of the tool holder, forming at least one contact surface (36, 72, 74). The abutment surfaces (22, 24) and the associated counter-abutment surfaces (22, 24, 64, 70) are embodied in relation to the tool holder axis (S) in such a way as to transmit force in the radial direction and in the axial direction, and the machine-tool coupling part (12) and the tool clamping part (14) are joined to the tool holder by means of the exertion of an axial joining force (F). |
