A system and components to manage event based information on an electronic device 1D where the information relates to an event generated by 1A and delivered through the management system 1B and a telecommunications network 1C to the electronic device 1D. The event information is packaged by 1B together with management rules for information pertaining to this event in such a way that on arrival at the electronic device 1D the event information can be managed automatically. The maintenance of knowledge of previous information and rules delivered by 1B allows linkage of event information to be maintained within 1B and packaged as part of the management rules for utilisation at 1D. The event information is ultimately displayed to the end user of the electronic device so as to notify them of the most recently known or most pertinent status of the event.
