Method for manufacturing wear-resistant coatings on a metal base

Production of wear-resistant coatings on metal articles (1), especially those made from light metals, comprises: (A) mechanical roughening of the surface to be coated; (B) cleaning and roughening the resulting surface using a laser beam;and (C) applying a wear-resistant coating by thermal spraying. An independent claim is included for coatings produced using the method.
