摘要 Benzene hydrocarbons are alkylated by reaction with an alkylating agent at elevated temperature in the presence as catalyst of primary aluminium phosphate on an acidic or neutral support, e.g. aluminium phosphate, boron phosphate, silicon carbide, silicic acid or an acid silicate such as montmorillonite which may be acid activated or a synthetic aluminium or magnesium silicate cracking catalyst. The alkylating agent may be ethylene, propylene or butenes in amounts of 20-120 mols. per 100 mols. of benzene hydrocarbon, reaction being effected at 200-320 DEG C. and 20-100 atmospheres preferably in the liquid phase with a throughput to form 0.3-2 kg. of alkylate per litre of reaction space per hour. Some of the reaction product may be recycled to dilute the olefin feed. The catalyst is stated to be ineffective for transalkylation and if desired the product may be passed over an active transalkylation catalyst, e.g. tungstic acid.ALSO:An alkylation catalyst comprises primary aluminium phosphate on an acidic or neutral support, e.g. aluminium phosphate, boron phosphate, silicon carbide, silicic acid, an acid silicate such as montmorillonite which may be acid activated or a synthetic aluminium or magnesium silicate cracking catalyst. The support is impregnated with a solution of the primary aluminium phosphate to introduce 2-30% of the catalyst and is then dried and heated at 400-500 DEG C. It may be formed into pills or spheres having a size of 2-10 mm. Regeneration is effected by roasting in air at 400-600 DEG C.
