The apparatus has a strip (20) and a pad (22) lying directly on a sclera (18). The strip and the pad are formed such that electromagnetic radiation is radiated in the direction of the sclera. Fiber light conductors (24) are connected with the strip and pad. The conductors include a radiation source (26) such as laser or LED, which is operated in a continuous wave mode or pulse mode and controlled by a power supply (28). A radiation focusing device is connected with the source, where the strip, pad and the radiation focusing device strengthen the sclera. |
