Missile laser guidance system has a laser (1) which emits a beam that impacts on two optical deflectors (2, 3) in the form of vibrating mirrors (9, 11) controlled by galvanometers (8, 10) and supported on frictionless supports which however permit torsion or flexing and which provide quasi-sinusoidal, synchronized, amplitude modulated, deflections of the laser beam. The resultant spatial scan pattern is analogous to the petals of a flower. |
