<p>The invention relates to a method for retransmitting data packets in a network. Further, the invention relates to an adapted system for performing the method. To improve the robustness in the transmission of an acknowledgment message by a mobile terminal to the network, while minimizing a signaling overhead, the invention provides mechanisms that optimize the retransmission of data packets and manage acknowledgement messages. The mechanisms disclosed are particular applicable to heterogeneous radio access networks.</p> |
