摘要 A graphic rendering pipeline and a computer system are provided to perform Z-testing before samples are transmitted to a shader engine under appropriate circumstances, thereby reducing the workload of the shader engine. A graphic rendering pipeline comprises a setup engine(110), a raster engine(115), a shader engine(140), a Z-raster operation unit(120), a Z-resolve engine, and a pre-raster operation unit(130). When the graphic rendering pipeline is configured for an early Z-mode, samples related to pixel primitives are processed by the Z-raster operation unit(120) and the Z-resolve engine and processed by the shader engine(140). When the graphic rendering pipeline is configured for a late Z-mode, the samples are processed by the shader engine(140) and processed by the Z-raster operation unit(120) and the Z-resolve engine.
