An apparatus and a method for providing duplex contents service in a DMB system are provided to interwork a wireless Internet with DMB, load timing information and file information of certain data broadcasting requested from a user in a carousel information, and transmit the carousel information by the DMB through the wireless Internet to allow the user to view data broadcasting selected according to the timing information and the file information. A DMB receiving unit(102) tunes a broadcasting signal received through an antenna as a corresponding frequency, and outputs the tuned broadcasting signal. A control unit(106) generates a file request signal corresponding to a data broadcasting selection signal of a user, synchronizes selected data broadcasting with timing information according to file information corresponding to the file request signal, and receives the data broadcasting. A wireless transmitting/receiving unit(108) transmits the file request signal of the control unit(106) by wireless, and receives the timing information and the file information of the data broadcasting by wireless. A wireless Internet(120) connects with the wireless transmitting/receiving unit(108) by wireless, performs the multiple connection process of the file request signal, and transmits the processed file request signal to the Internet(140). The wireless Internet(120) performs the multiple connection process of the timing information and the file information provided from the Internet(140), and transmits the processed information to the wireless transmitting/receiving unit(108). A broadcasting station server(160) receives the file request signal transmitted from the wireless Internet(120) through the Internet(140), transmits the timing information and the file information capable of being received in a DMB system(100) to the DMB system(100) through the wireless Internet(120) in response to the file request signal, and provides data broadcasting selected by the user to the DMB system(100).
