A receive mode switching method in a telephone communication system and an apparatus thereof are provided to enable a caller to switch the receive mode of a called telephone terminal by using the telephone terminal of a calling party. A first telephone terminal(200) includes inputted receive mode information to a call request message according to a receive call number which a subscriber inputs to transmit the call request message to a telephone network. A second telephone terminal switches the mode into a receive mode corresponding to the receive mode information included in the call request message received from the first telephone terminal through the telephone network and outputs the receive request. |
