In a high-strength belt fastening comprising a hinge pin connecting contiguously intermeshing wire hooks which are clinched into the belt ends, the limb 33 of each hook is pointed at 34 and has an additional point 36 welded on, while part of the limb 31 is bent out of the plane of the limb 33 and has its end bent to form a transverse portion 35 over which the point 34 is clinched. A transverse rod 32 over which the points 36 are clinched is welded to the limbs 31 to form a row of hooks whose portions 35 contact and may be welded to each other. |
