<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves selecting values (V1-V8) of displacement speed of a motor vehicle inside a speed matrix representing the possible values of the displacement speed based on the variations of parameters e.g. road work, that influence the speed, for a section of a road network between an initial starting point (A) and a destination point (B). A transit time is calculated by utilizing the selected values of the displacement speed. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a traffic information providing device comprising a memory. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for providing traffic information over a transit time of a motor vehicle between an initial starting point and a destination point of a road network, by a traffic information providing device e.g. embarked navigation system. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method permits to calculate a path between the initial starting point and the destination point of the road network, in a rapid, precise and reliable manner.
