The device has a self-powered electric energy supply (1) e.g. rechargeable battery, connected to a conductive rod (10) and a conductive ring (9) for detecting presence of a livestock and for triggering a pyrotechnic device (8) or sound/luminous device. The conductive ring is fixed on an internal face of a tube-shaped element (7). The conductive rod axially extends in the tube-shaped element and connected to a base (2). The base rests on a ground (3) and has tips (4) for fixing the base on the ground.
