EPI ROLLER APPARATUS OF TOPPING PROCESS

An EPI(Each Per Inch) roller apparatus is provided to eliminate the necessity of changing EPI rollers by adjusting a single EPI roller in accordance with a wide variety of sizes of steel cords. An EPI roller apparatus includes roller pieces(4) arranged with an interval(3) for passage of a topped steel cord(2). The roller pieces are arranged along a rotating screw shaft(8) connected via a power transmission shaft(7) of a driving motor(6) controlled by a controller(5). The rotating screw shaft has a forward threaded part(8a) and a reverse threaded part(8b) where the roller pieces are screwed such that the width of the interval between the roller pieces is adjusted in accordance with the rotation of the rotating screw shaft.
