A mobile communication terminal and a menu and item selection method are provided to enter a main menu and sub menus thereof easily, and to enable a user to select a particular sub menu easily, then to exactly recognize the user's input when the user touches a menu in a narrow space, thereby improving reliability. A display(120) selects one of plural main menus, and includes a touch device(122) for displaying the selected main menu and more than one sub menu thereof. If an operation of the touch device(122) being dragged in particular direction where a particular sub menu of the more than one of the sub menus is positioned is sensed, a controller(140) controls so that the particular sub menu positioned in the particular direction where the touch device(122) is dragged is executed.
