<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use contents including added data by adding a detachable second recording medium to a reproducing device while using contents recorded in a first recording medium by the reproducing device. <P>SOLUTION: The device for reproducing contents recorded in a detachable first recording medium is provided with a detection means for detecting the connection of a detachable second recording medium, and an updating means for combining, based on the detection result of the detection means, the contents recorded in the first recording medium and the reproduction information of the contents with contents recorded in the second recording medium and the reproduction information of the contents to virtually update the contents recorded in the first recording medium and the reproduction information of the contents.
