<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor with versatility higher than a conventional image processor. <P>SOLUTION: When an input signal to a spatial filter processing block 24 is a monochromatic image signal of only the Y component, a selector 508 selects an input terminal 508<SB>2</SB>, and a selector 509 selects an input terminal 509<SB>2</SB>. Thus, a low pass filter output signal (LPF-LL) of a programmable spatial filter 504 is input into a spatial filter 505, and a low pass filter output signal (LPF-LL) of the spatial filter 505 is input into the spatial filter 505. In other words, the programmable spatial filter 504 and spatial filters 505 and 506 are interconnected in series (cascade), and filter processing is performed by three cascade-connected spatial filters.
