PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take countermeasures against thermal noise when processing an image signal in a video camera. SOLUTION: Provided are first and second sample-and-hold sections 20G<SB>1</SB>, 20G<SB>2</SB>for sampling and holding the image signal obtained by the output of an image pickup device 10G. The first and second sample-and-hold sections 20G<SB>1</SB>, 20G<SB>2</SB>perform sampling at the same timing, mix both the hold output for amplification by an amplifier 13G, and perform image processing.
