PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of preventing disturbance of an OSD image under a weak electric field environment. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus 200 for generating the first image (OSD image) on the basis of an image drawing command and displaying the first image superimposed on a second image resulting from a video signal (video image) externally received includes a CRT controller (display control means) 210 that displays the first image superimposed on the second image in a first display scan timing synchronously with a synchronizing signal depending on a state of the synchronizing signal included in the video signal or a prescribed second display scan timing generated independently of the synchronizing signal.
