PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device and a control method thereof by which a plurality of servo operations are flexibly responded without complicating structure. SOLUTION: A servo error signal operation part 15 of the optical disk device includes: signal processing blocks 31, 32 which perform arithmetic processing of an output signal of a division light receiving element 13; signal connection parts 21-23 which connect light receiving output of the division light receiving element 13 and predetermined arithmetic circuits in the signal processing blocks 31, 32; a connection control part 5 which controls connection states in the signal connection parts 21-23 according to a mode signal MD output from a CPU 6; S/H parts 64, 65 which sample and hold an output signal of an output part 4 and an S/H timing control part 63 which controls operation timing of the S/H parts 64, 65 in time division manner.
