PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for seam treatment in a water jet loom, enabling seam-containing wefts to be surely sucked in a weft-excluding action even in case of requiring time for channel switching at a switching valve. SOLUTION: The seam treatment method comprises excluding wefts Y1 and Y2 each containing seams Y3 by suction force based on the negative pressure of a yarn-excluding mechanism 26. Specifically, the method comprises the following practice: Until the negative pressure of the yarn-excluding mechanism 26 generated by channel switching of the switching valve 34 comes to a predetermined value, the wefts Y1 and Y2's delivery is stopped, and after the negative pressure of the yarn-excluding mechanism 26 comes to the predetermined value, the wefts Y1 and Y2 are delivered.
