PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous hot dip plating production method by which in a continuous hot dip plating operation, the occurrence of dross itself is exceedingly reduced, thereby the frequency of a dross recovery operation is extremely reduced, and surface defects such as flaws caused by dross do not occur, while high productivity is obtained. SOLUTION: The method for producing the hot dip galvanized steel strip is characterized in that a galvanizing pot in a hot dip galvanizing line where plating is continuously applied to the surface of a steel sheet to produce the hot dip galvanized steel strip is discontinuously replenished with hot dip zinc.
