PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment method which enables the stable and sufficient decomposition of a hardly decomposable organic matter up to a safe concentration region with respect to the quality variation of water to be treated and the suppression of the production of BrO<SB>3</SB><SP>-</SP>. SOLUTION: In the water treatment method for treating water to be treated by injecting hydrogen peroxide and an electron donor substance in the water to be treated, the residual ratio of hydrogen peroxide in the water to be treated is measured and at least the injection ratio of one of ozone, hydrogen peroxide and the electron doner substance is controlled so that the consumption ratio and residual ratio of hydrogen peroxide expressed by the difference between the injection ratio of hydrogen peroxide and the residual ratio of hydrogen peroxide are respectively become a preset predetermined range.
