A method for manufacturing a capacitor is provided to produce a capacitor having improved thermal stability and a long lifespan. A method for manufacturing a capacitor(18) includes the steps of: treating the surface of a polyetherimide film(22) with plasma; treating the plasma-treated surface(24) with metal; disposing an electrode(20) on the polyetherimide film; and packaging the capacitor. The plasma treatment step comprises a chemical vapor deposition process. The metal treatment step comprises a vapor deposition, sputtering, or electrochemical deposition process of the polyetherimide film.
