<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe DNA polymerase-inhibiting composition produced inexpensively and easily, and an anticancer agent. <P>SOLUTION: It is found that a material inhibiting the DNA polymerase activities is contained in extracts of guava leaves and Agaricus blazei Murill. It is also found that these extracts have high anticancer activities, and the extract of the guava leaves and the extract of the Agaricus blazei Murill exhibit synergistic effects on the activities of inhibiting the DNA polymerase and the anticancer action.
