PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for experiencing a virtual sightseeing tour which can provide various information/sightseeing information without any need of a user's advance course setting or the like and without being constrained by fixed courses and conditions by making the user's alter ego function collect information of each place/sightseeing area and exchanging various pieces of information with other users' alter ego function or the like that he/she encounters at each place/sightseeing area while touring each place/sightseeing area on a map without being constrained by the fixed courses and conditions in the system for making a virtual sightseeing tour on a computer through the Internet.

SOLUTION: In the virtual sightseeing system 100 for providing virtual sightseeing tours, in a virtual sightseeing server 200, an avatar being the user's alter ego performs a route retrieval such as a road/railroad track on a map, displays retrieval positions and regional information or the like held by other avatars together with map information or the like on the browser of the user's terminal 300 and transmits each piece of information to the user's terminal 300 by e-mail.
