<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of reducing heat radiation from a fuel cell stack. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell is a high-temperature type fuel cell such as a hydrogen separation membrane cell. The fuel cell is provided with two end plates 210 sandwiching a cell stack therebetween. On the first end plate 210, the fuel cell is connected to a pipe 123 for respective fluids supplied to and discharge from the fuel cell 100. Heat insulating materials Ade for end plates are arranged in all connection parts between the first end plate 210 and the respective pipes. Heat insulating materials Adp for pipes are arranged on cover surfaces of parts of the respective pipes 123 exposed from the first end plate 210.
