<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device which has an inexpensive structure and can perform highly reliable high-speed recording. <P>SOLUTION: On the basis of the detection result of the driving voltage of a laser drive circuit, the driving voltage of a laser diode is controlled and, by controlling the driving voltage of the laser diode, the driving voltage of the laser drive circuit is maintained within a proper range.
