<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase torque of a developer supply body, nonuniform image density and wear of the developer supply body, which result from an agglomeration of developer formed in a gap between the developer supply body and a side wall of a first storage chamber, the side wall facing the developer supply body. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device 5K includes: a developing roller 11K; a supply agent storage chamber 7K storing toner to be supplied to the developing roller 11K; a supply roller 10K for supplying toner to the developing roller; and a hopper 6K located on the supply agent storage chamber and storing toner to be replenished to the supply agent storage chamber; and a communication opening 9K via which the hopper and supply agent storage chamber communicate. In the developing device 5K, in order to prevent toner on the supply roller from entering the gap between the supply roller and the side wall 14k of the supply agent storage chamber, the side wall facing the supply roller, an eave-shaped member 70K is disposed above the gap.
