PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ejection method by which ink can be equally sucked from a nozzle group covered by a suction cap without depending on a shape of the suction cap, a diameter and a length of a first passage, etc. SOLUTION: A waste liquid means 4 is set which sucks to eject the ink from each nozzle group of a plurality of divided groups prepared in a recording head 5. The waste liquid means 4 is equipped with the suction cap 15 which is a united body of a plurality of suction caps (sections 16 and 17) capable of contacting and covering the recording head 5 by each nozzle group, a suction force generating means common to the sections 16 and 17, and an ink ejection path 12 which links the sections 16 and 17 and the suction force generating means with each other. The ink ejection path consists of both a plurality of first passages 21 and 22 whose one ends communicate respectively with the interior of the sections 16 and 17, and a second passage 23 which makes the other ends of the first passages 21 and 22 join and communicate with the suction force generating means.
