PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of preventing generation of noise due to metal contact when energizing a worm shaft toward the worm wheel. SOLUTION: The electric power steering device is provided with the worm shaft 14 housed in a gear housing 10 and connected to an output shaft 6a of an electric motor 6 in the base end thereof and provided with worm 14a in the periphery thereof, the worm wheel 15 engaged with the worm 14a and connected to a steering shaft 4, a bearing 17 fitted to one end of the worm shaft 14 to support the tip of the worm shaft 14 freely to be deflected toward the worm wheel 15, and an energizing means for energizing the bearing 17 toward the worm wheel 15. The energizing means is arranged between the periphery of the bearing 17 and the gear housing 10, and formed of a pair of magnets 25 and 26 opposite to each other without a contact.
