FAX SERVER, MANAGEMENT METHOD THEREOF, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it easy to burden functions of a FAX server in a network of LAN, etc. to a device which has a higher communication function in the network. SOLUTION: An image forming device 1A has a function to offer a FAX server service according to a request from a client in a segment; a high function server detection unit 106 which has the higher communication function than the image forming device 1A itself, and detects a high function FAX server which has a function to offer FAX server service; a server transfer necessary/not-necessary discrimination unit 107 which discriminates whether a function to offer a FAX server service to the clients is to be transferred to the detected high function FAX server from the image forming device 1A; and a server transfer processing unit 109 which executes transfer processing for transferring the function from the image forming device 1A to the high function FAX server, when discriminated to be transferred.
