PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-way communication system which achieves mutual two-way communication of information through a communication line and is capable of detecting abnormality of the communication line. SOLUTION: In the two-way communication system including an ECU 100, a unit 200, and a communication line 30 connecting the ECU 100 and the unit 200, the ECU 100 acquires transmission information of the unit 200 on the basis of a voltage fluctuation of a signal wave passing the communication line 30, in a half wavelength section where the voltage of the signal wave is equal to or higher than a prescribed voltage, and the unit 200 acquires transmission information of the ECU 100 on the basis of the frequency fluctuation of the signal wave, and a threshold is set which is lower than a lower limit voltage due to the voltage fluctuation of the signal wave in the half wavelength section where the voltage of the signal wave is equal to or higher than the prescribed voltage, and abnormality of the communication line 30 is determined by whether the signal wave traverses the threshold within a prescribed period or not.
