<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein for conventional video display apparatuses, provided with an OSD remote controller, a user has to manually make input for displaying an OSD remote controller, when there is no remote controller exists in the vicinity of the video display apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The video display apparatus includes a wireless transmission means, and the remote controller includes a wireless receiving means. When the power of the video display apparatus is turned on, the video display apparatus transmits a remote controller search signal. Upon the receipt of the remote controller search signal, the remote controller transmits a remote controller response signal.
