<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for supporting a setup of a media reproduction set or a digital television set. <P>SOLUTION: A remote support site has a detector internally collecting the information of a broadcast characteristic including intrinsic setup information which a user of a media reproduction set can select, a means remotely detecting status information about the concerned individual set, and a means remotely designating single setting which can provide the individual set based on the status information.
