<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display control method for correctly estimating a bookmark position even when the bookmark position on layout changes. <P>SOLUTION: In storing a bookmark, an input information analysis means 120 determines a region block to be stored among area blocks extracted by a layout analysis means 123. A bookmark information management means 121 stores information showing the area block to be stored as bookmark information in an information storage part 122. In reproducing the bookmark, a bookmark information management means 121 acquires the object bookmark information from an information storage part 122, and outputs it to a position retrieval means 124. A layout analysis means 123 executes layout analysis based on the image of a whole page image generated by a rendering part 112, and outputs the leading position information of each area block to a position retrieving means 124.
