PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a very compact magnetic sensor capable of detecting highly sensitively a magnetic particle concentration with high precision not affected by a probe shape, and a manufacturing method for the magnetic sensor, and the manufacturing method capable of manufacturing easily the compact magnetic sensor of high strength. SOLUTION: In this magnetic sensor having a needle-like detecting part, the needle-like detecting part is provided with a substrate cutting-worked needle-likely, at least one MR element formed on the substrate, at least two lead conductors formed on the substrate and having one end connected electrically to the at least one MR element, and a protection film for covering the at least one MR element and the at least two lead conductors.
