PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a sheet-like material which very effectively solves the problem that scratches occur in a sheet-like material, such as a thermoplastic resin film, when a coating liquid comprising a functional agent is applied to the sheet-like material by using a reverse gravure roller during a sheet-like material manufacturing process; to provide a device therefor. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of a coated sheet-like material, a coating liquid is brought into contact with and applied to a sheet-like material from a cell of a gravure roll, which rotates in the reversal direction to the traveling direction of the continuously traveling sheet-like material, to continuously form coating films on the sheet-like material. In this case, the diameter D of the gravure roll is made to be 15-70 mm, and the radii R of curvature of bank-edge parts, which form the cell, are made to be 10-200 mm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
