PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice milling apparatus capable of uniformly shaving the whole surface of an unpolished rice by thinly and widely stripping the surface of a grain by an inexpensive constitution. SOLUTION: A large number of line-like groove parts (d), (e) parallel to a drive shaft (1) are formed on an outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical milling roll (2) rotated/driven by the drive shaft (1) with every set clearance. Thereby, since the surfaces of the unpolished rices filling milling chambers m, n are successively abutted on the rotating groove parts, rice bran layers on the surfaces of the unpolished rices can be stripped off. While it is an apparatus which can finish it to the milled rice with a sufficient finishing, it can be made to the inexpensive rice milling apparatus with a simple constitution because machining of the milling roll is only performed by forming the linear groove.
