A connecting apparatus, an electronic apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to enable the electronic apparatus to control an indirectly-connected external device by transmitting information about the external device connected to the connecting apparatus to the electronic apparatus without installing a port for connecting the external device in the electronic apparatus. In a connecting apparatus(100) having at least one connection unit(170) to which an external device(200) is connected, the apparatus comprises the followings. A wireless communication unit(110) transmits and receives a radio signal to and from a predetermined electronic apparatus(300). A controller(150) receives information about the external device if the external device is connected to the connection unit, and controls the wireless communication unit so as to output the information to the electronic apparatus through the wireless communication unit.
