<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wet fixing system image forming apparatus capable of fixing toner even on a recording medium into which fixing solution hardly permeates by strong adhesive force by preventing the occurrence of flow and cohesion of toner, and curl and wrinkles of the recording medium caused by applying the fixing solution. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 includes a toner image forming means 2, an intermediate transfer means 3, a transfer means 4, a fixing solution applying means 5, a conveying means 6, a fixing means 7, a recording medium supply means 8 and a recording medium detection means 50.
