PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nucleic acid probe collectively detecting bacterial strains of the same species irrespective of the strains and differentially detecting the bacterial strains from other bacterial species for the purpose of classifying pathogenic bacteria by the species.

SOLUTION: Any one of mutant sequences in which bases are deleted, substituted or added in a base sequence composed of a plurality of specific sequences or any one of complementary sequences thereof within the range wherein functions as the probe can be held or a combination of two or more thereof is used as the probe for detecting a DNA of an infectious disease pathogenic bacterium.
