PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earth structure capable of selecting whether one of contacts 14 is used as an earth or another earth terminal 20 is used in the same shell 16. SOLUTION: This earth structure is used in an electric connector 10 equipped with the contacts 14, a housing 12, a shell 16, and an earth terminal 20 or an earth lug 18. In this earth structure, a through hole 48 in which an engagement groove 42, a mounting groove 44, and a connecting part groove 46 are in communication with each other is provided in the shell 16, and an insertion groove 50 in which the earth terminal 20 is inserted, a threadedly attached part 52 to hold the earth terminal 20, a clearance groove 51 to clear the earth lug 18 mounted integrally with the housing 12, and an engagement part 53 to get engaged with the lock part 32 of the housing 12 are provided in the through hole 48. The shell is formed so as to be able to correspond to the earth lug 18 mounted integrally with the housing 12 or another earth terminal 20 too, and the same shell 16 is electrically connected to the earth lug 18 or the earth terminal 20 in the same shell 16.
