PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color picture tube made of a material for a shadow mask containing 95% or more of iron and capable of preventing deterioration of color purity by doming and an external magnetic field. SOLUTION: Where 2Ds is for a length in a Y axis direction of a shorter side skirt part 43b of a shadow mask 4, and Lsc, Lsm are for lengths respectively in a Z axis direction of a shorter side skirt part at an arbitral point where Y axis coordinate values in the shorter skirt part are 0 and Dsm, and Ws is for a total sum of widths in a Y axis direction of an area where Lms≤0.85xLsc,αs=Ws/Ds shall be satisfied. Where 2Dl is for a length in an X axis direction of a longer side skirt part 43a, and Llc, Llm for lengths respectively in a Z axis direction of the longer side skirt part at an arbitral point where X axis coordinate values in the longer skirt part are 0 and Dlm, and Wl is for a total sum of widths in an X axis direction of an area where L1m≤0.85xL1c,αl=Wl/Dl shall be satisfied.
